MUSIC OF SILENCE

Workshop SERIES – with Hamsa Arnold

Sing, chant, listen and experience how the flow of music opens a different relationship with time. Slow down and allow music to open space for stillness to enter. Each session will begin with an introductory talk followed by a 40 min practice. 

WHEN: TUESDAYS, 3.00-4.00 PM

DATES: FEBRUARY 24, MARCH 3 – 10 – 17 – 24

Participation:

Open to everyone interested to explore the connection between music and stillness. No prior knowledge or musical skills required.

Registration:

Each session is a complete unit in itself. Therefore participation in individual sessions is possible. Please register for the sessions you’d like to attend.

Cost:

This workshop is by Donation towards The Music Estuary concert series.

Workshop Facilitator:

Hamsa Arnold is an experienced Music Educator and Lecturer in Music Pädagogy. Since arriving in Australia he has regularly performed as an organ soloist and accompanist with various choirs and ensembles in the Northern Rivers and as Director of Syrinx vocal ensemble. He is the Music-Coordinator at St Mary’s Ballina and Founding-Director of The Music Estuary concert series.

Hamsa graduated in church music and has studied and lived for 20 years in a context of Eastern Spirituality, was a meditation teacher and practised mindfulness through music.
